Pennington Gas Service, 

Now serving propane gas customers in 43 Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana counties, was originally operated out of a small family grocery store in Morenci, Michigan. In 1953, Clare, Theola, and son Richard Pennington, responding to their grocery customers' requests, began offering propane in 100 lb. cylinders for cooking. The 100 lb. cylinder business soon grew into a delivery route for Richard, and as propane home heating became more popular, the Penningtons were faced with a decision.
